Count calories by chat: just type what you ate

Type instead of scrolling through databases. You write your meal like a quick text message, and Weekfuel turns it into an entry with calories, protein, carbs and fat.

In short

With chat calorie tracking you simply type what you ate into Weekfuel, for example “chicken with rice”. An AI breaks the text down into individual ingredients, estimates the amounts and calculates calories, protein, carbs and fat. You check the result, adjust it if needed and add it to your day with one tap.

How it works

  1. Type: write what you ate in the input field, the way you'd text a friend.
  2. Check the ingredients: Weekfuel shows the dish with every ingredient listed separately, with amount and calories.
  3. Refine: something off? Just add it in the chat, like “large wrap” or “more meat”. You can also change amounts with plus and minus.
  4. Add: one tap and the meal lands on the right day. Your weekly budget updates right away.
chat: the message “Hähnchen mit Reis” (chicken with rice) becomes 225 g chicken breast (236 kcal) and 90 g cooked rice (117 kcal), 353 kcal in total with 55 g protein

Why ingredient-level matters

“Chicken with rice” can be 400 or 900 kcal. It depends on how much rice is on the plate and whether the chicken was fried in oil. That's why Weekfuel lists every ingredient with its amount. You see at once where the calories come from and fix exactly what's wrong instead of re-entering the whole meal.

Always editable

Change amounts, remove ingredients or add details by message.

Packaged food by barcode

For packaged products the barcode is often quicker: scan the pack and the name and nutrition values come from the free food database Open Food Facts. No AI needed.

Tips for more accurate numbers

What happens to your message

Only the text of your message is sent to an AI service for the estimate. Weekfuel does not send photos. Depending on load, models from Alibaba Cloud (Qwen) or Anthropic (Claude Haiku) are used. The AI service never gets your name, your weight or any Apple Health data. The finished meal is saved only on your iPhone. Details are in the app privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is calorie counting by chat?

As accurate as your description. With amount and cooking method the estimate is usually close; with “a plate of pasta” the AI has to guess. Treat the result as a solid starting point and correct what you know better.

Can I take a photo of my food instead?

No, Weekfuel works with text. A short message is quick to write, and you can add amounts or cooking method right away. For packaged food there's the barcode scanner.

Does the AI know regional dishes?

It knows a wide range of cuisines, from tacos to carbonara. For very local dishes, give the listed ingredients a quick check.

Are my messages stored?

The meal is then stored only on your iPhone. The text goes to the AI service for the estimate. What is processed there and for how long is described in the app privacy policy.
