Weekend calorie calculator
Birthday, wedding, BBQ: plan the extra instead of regretting it later.

In short
Formula: less per day = planned extra ÷ number of balancing days. Example: 1,500 extra calories spread over 5 days is 300 fewer per day. Your 2,000-calorie target becomes 1,700 on those days – and the week stays on plan.
How to plan an extra
- Estimate the extra: how much more than a normal day will you eat and drink?
- Choose how many days to spread it over – before, after, or both.
- Keep the daily cut moderate, ideally under 500 calories.
- For a big extra, spread it over two weeks.
Typical extras
| Occasion | rough extra |
|---|---|
| Pizza instead of a regular dinner | +500 to +900 calories |
| Brunch with mimosas | +600 to +1,000 calories |
| BBQ with beers | +800 to +1,500 calories |
| Wedding or birthday party | +1,000 to +2,000 calories |
These are rough ballparks; portions and drinks make a huge difference.
Frequently asked questions
Can I balance calories afterwards?
Yes. Saving before or eating a bit less after makes no difference to your weekly balance. Many people just find saving beforehand more relaxed.
Is a cheat day bad for weight loss?
Not by default. It becomes a problem when one day wipes out the whole week's deficit. More in how to handle a cheat day.
